Aren't the Americans labelling Iran a threat being a tiny bit hypocritical?

Iran hasn't attacked or invaded anyone for over two centuries. The USA has a very long list of wars, invasions, bombings, terrorism, support of terrorism, coups, insurgencies, economic sanctions & coercion etc etc. Who shot down an airliner over Iran? Who sold Iraq anthrax and botulinum to use against Iran? Isn't it a massive hypocrisy for the nation with the largest nuclear weapons arsenal (and to date still the only nation to have used them) to warn anyone about nukes? Should the national motto of the USA be "Give me hypocrisy or give me death"?
